Post 155: Pre Season in NBA 2014-2015

It just feel Playoff just finish couple week ago but now new preseason had started and this year there are pretty interesting free agent in the market to pull-in for all team.

While there is rumor with all these superstar on which club they wish to play with: Anthony with Laker/Heat/Houston but final still remain in Knicks.

Vince Carter, superb authentic abilities and good shooting range decide to challenge new season with Memphis Grizzlies.

Pau Gasol join Chicago Bulls. Probably he had enough playing under Kobe ah... still I think he is still very effective inside the pain. Concern is consistency being effective... Well, I think we will know once the season start than...

Of all player movement, the most exciting and surprise to me is Lebron James, The King, decide to return to Cleveland where he started. Now he will be playing with Kyrie Irving, (superb ball dribbler and very quick player). Personally, I think though Cleveland will have King James back however chasing championship for 2014-2015 season remain in doubt. Basketball is team sports and doing it alone is almost impossible. (even Jordan will need Pippen to win...). Unless Cleveland can land some strong and hardworking PowerForward/Center, I still think new season will be difficult to challenge.

Post 154: Yonex Nanoray 90DX

I was never a Yonex Nanoray fan. I had tried both Voltrix 70/80 (4U) and I love these racket. Sad to said both had declare "retirement" as I had crack both of it. Ever since I crack my last Voltrix 80, I am searching around what will be best racket for me. Aside Voltrix series, I also had good experience with Prince (Triple Threat) series. I also heard alot of good stuff about Victor racket. (Good racket, good package, better price. Btw, Yonex is selling very expensive in Malaysia.)

While I was shopping around, I was introduce for Yonex Nanoray 90DX. 1st impression: This is hell of a pretty racket. Is like love at first sight!!! I love it matt white clean surface. 2nd: It had a thick lower back frame. 3rd: Power Boost Cap. Seldom see this kind of cap on Yonex badminton racket. Understand this cap should able to hit faster shot. (not sure how it works still....)

After several consideration, I decided to go with it. 1st engagement was to try out all possible shot and how to swing it correctly to have better power and better contact point.  Though it was only my 1st trial but the swing was not difficult to catch (forehand or backhand). Defense was rather good too at 30 lbs string. I am never a superb defense player so it was acceptable for me that the racket react quick enough and return on good position.  Lastly, SMASH!!! as everyone know, to have max power on smash, getting it on contact point or sweet spot is the most important yet most difficult action. After several smashes, I notice it is not so difficult to get sweet spot for this racket. I had a few good contact point and I love the power shown from the racket. It was great for me!!!

It was a sweet engagement for me. I feel more confidence in getting my sweet spot, more consistent with shot and more power in my smash game. Furthermore, 4U weight allow me to be more flexible with my game play too especially during defense. So far it is totally fun for my to play with Nanoray 90DX like a balance racket to attack and defense at the same time. As for price, it does not cost a bomb compare with Voltrix 80/ZForceII or Nanoray 900. (in Malaysia I think about RM 550 above). I had it at RM 240 (exclude string and grips.) and its totally within my budget.

Post 152:

Post 143: Yonex Voltric 70

I use to have a Prince Racket. It was my favorite. Ever since its patah couple years back, getting another suitable racket is not a simple task.

I was lucky. My friend bought it brand new, Yonex Voltric 70, when it was newly launch. He tried  it but sad to know it does not hit with his style of game.

He allow me to give it a try and immediately I love it. Solid contact, light body, flexible. I feel more confidence playing with this racket.

Voltric 70...right for me...

Post 138: Modesliga 1st Season Finale Session

22nd January 2011 - final session for 1st Season Modesliga Badminton League. It was really great experience where we are able to compete and learn from various kind of players. From beginning of the season, me and my teamate had consistantly discussed how we should improve our games, what we can do to play better and etc. There is so many discussion on the games and it does motivate everyone to play better.

We give in 100% of our games and we hope to become competitive. I remember games before Modesliga where we are unable to adjust our games well during friendly matches with others. Overall we did not control the match and subsequenly we loss confidence to continue challenge others.

Thanks to Teddy, organiser for Modesliga Badminton League, we have the platform to try anything we've discussed about. Post 110: Badminton League

Things seem to get more interesting lately with badminton. I was asked by Ah Juung earlier whether interested to join a badminton league for 2-3 months.

Surely I am interested, especially the commitment is not that long, 2-3 months, probably is for 10-12 matches for a league. Furthermore, it does not cost much, I mean it might cost me RM 10/match. I get to play with different players, playing under different partner, and enjoying different atmosphere.

I'm still not sure what is the prize will be but it is not the prize that I am targeting. I want to able to play more and improve my game better. I hope I can get it with this league. I believe, at certain time, given certain preasure, improvement could be expect as the focus is there and learning can be absorb more properly.
First meeting is for training and it is targeted at 12th September. I will write more again once I get to know more about it.

Anyone interested to form a team with minumu 12 person for the league let me know. I could help to arrange if necessary.

Post 102: The Wait is OVER!!!

Finally Starcraft II, Wings of Liberty, is launching - 27th July 2010. Is been so long waiting for this. I have been hearing about it long long time ago. Startcraft I, was launched about 12 years ago when me and my gang, (Juan, Szeat, Han Wen, Swee & etc) was so crazy about it, we play whole night out and gang bang each other with it!!!
Looking at the website, the graphic looks fantastic. Though can still recognised some familiar structure but surely it will have more features and new weapons to try on.
Time to get back to the old days guys!!! Let's bang again!!!

Post 88: Thomas Cup 2010

Malaysia Thomas Cup 2010 player listing:

Lee Chong Wei
I think he is at his peak of his game. Saw alot of Youtube and the way he dominate the game is fantastic. I believe 1st single point is on our favor. Just keep it up brother!!!
Wong Chong Han
Saw him about 2-3 weeks ago while playing in Taman Megah Badminton Court. Although he is free agent now but he is definately still in shape for high level badminton game. His body is dam fit. Yes, BAM did the right thing to bring him back for 2nd single.
Mohd Hafiz Hashim
Well, he is not playing well under 21 points system but he definately a better bet on 3rd single spot. With his long arm and legs, he could be a surprise for Malaysia team.

Tan Boon Heong & Koo Kean Keat
Malaysia and World ranking No.1 Double. Boon Heong power smash and KKK speedy games is the strength. Of course there will be mistake, that is the risk of the game. Control it and I think they will win beautifully!!!

Mohd Zakry and Mohd Fairuzizuam
Honestly, I did not follow much with thier games. What I know if they are over size now, according to thier coach, and they have leg injuries.

Ong Soon Hock & Hoom Thien How

Wish Malaysia Team can win 2010 Thomas Cup. I should be going for Final match this year and hopefully, I am there to cheer for Malaysia Team!!!

Post 87: Friendly Match

7th May, 2010:

Have a friendly badminton match today at Ara Badminton Court. I am partnering with Ah Juun to play on 1st match.

It was really a challenging match. Our oppenant is really fast. They are younger, stronger and faster... We change our tactic to play agaist them.

Starting to understand the game now. When opponent is faster, we slow them down. When opponent is power smasher, we lower our shot and not creating any opportunity for them.

We won the match because we make less mistake. We were more stable and having more control agaist our opponent.

Maybe this should be the right way of handling badminton game ar....

A lesson learned today... :D
