Post 36: Sultanate of Oman

November 26, 2009; Dubai; Post 36;

Sultanate of Oman. Never hear much of this country before. The feeling is it has a low profile “attitude” and very rich in black gold. Overall people here are more relax and slow pace in live.

Thanks to Nikhil, Chong’s close friend in Oman, we manage to visit couple of places while we make our visit there.

Our ride, 4.5cc Jaguar; Strong and powerful. Very stable and it’s acceleration is excellence. Sad it is manufactured with less 2 wings or else, this car will fly!!!

Everything looks brown here. The land is brown, the mountain is brown, even the building looks more brown on it...:D…they are differentiate by dark brown, middle brown or light brown…BROWN….EVERYWHERE BROWN.

One of the most expensive hotels in Oman, Shangri-La Hotel, located behind the mountain, away from the city. It is always my preference visiting sea side. Feels calming myself and feel peaceful.

Foods are rather expensive in Oman. We had butter chicken and mutton + rice+ couple of bear. This will cost us about RM 200 already…for 1 meal!!

For lunch, we have vegetarian Indian food. Not sure what is the name, but the curry and tomato source taste good!! This also cost about RM 50… roti, curry and kacang only woh…

Something new for me here too…after the meal, due to heavy smell from Indian spices, the restaurant waiter offer us some “sweet” to bring away smell in our mouth.

Post 31: Git Git Waterfall

November 10, 2009: Damansara: Post 31:

If I have to choose 1 of the best visited places in Bali, it's gonna be this...

Git Git Waterfall on Northern side of Bali.

It is a very tall waterfall with alot of small stone along the river. It is pretty diffucult to walk through the river with unsteady leg but it is still managable if can be cafefull.

The river water splash into the rock so hard that it creates small water bubble that makes you wet even you are not near to it. Somehow, I enjoy staying and staring on the waterfall, as if it clear my mind for awhile... :P

Further more, the water is really cold and clean. I wash my face there and walked around the river for couple of photo post.

Anyone going to Bali soon should try to make a trip to this place, prepare some junk food, sit and chat for couple of hours shoul be very relaxing.

Post 29: Scare like shit!!!

November 8, 2009; Subang Jaya; Post 29:

I did not expect myself to do this when in Bali...this is totally something unexpected...
While we were visiting Bedegul, we saw someone having Parasailing and it looks fun!!! So i went and ask how much per ride. Surprisingly, it is pretty cheap as compare with doing it in Malaysia. Rp 75,000 (RM 27). Without any further thinking, I decide to take 1 ride...

1st quention from the instructor is "how heavy are you???"...and I was like "huh??!!! 103 kg...bolehkah???" ...Not sure what they discuss among others but eventually, they equipment me and give me some basic instruction what to do when on air.

During the briefing, I'm still ok, nothing to fear about as I did not think too much how this ride will be....

Just everything is ready to go....that is the moment where I start to feel...

"1, 2, 3...lari lari!!! lari lari!!!"...and go go go...thank god, i am on the air and my weight did not pull me down to the lake!!

Hanging there for about 5 minutes, it is really scary but it is also a very exciting feeling. Wind blows around you and it will swing me left and right...the feeling is really "dangerous". During that 5 minutes, I try to enjoy the ride as much as I can eventhough I am dam scare up there.

So glad I make it to the ground in 1 piece!! Hand was shaking when it is over as I was pulling the steel bar too long, too hard.

So, lesson of the day, Think before you act or you might pee on your pants!!! haha...:D

Post 28: Holidaysss

November 7, 2009; Subang Jaya; Post 28:

Having vacation in Bali, it will not be complete without visiting the famous sea temple, Tanah Lot.

Tanah Lot is one of the tourism attraction which it's attract thousand of people every year. When I visit this place, it is at early evening and the weather is super hot!!! I need an umbralla to walk around or I am sure I will get sun burn from it.

Luckily it is located next to the sea side and occasionally, there is wind down for cooling down.

While visiting Tanah Lot, I make a decision....

Have a tatoo, for 2 weeks ....
For the fun of it, this tatoo is only Rp 50,000, which i think is ok lah... Sit there for about 5 minutes and leave it for 15 mintues to dry, and it is done. Yeng or not?? haha... XD
